ArBeS H&DCC was founded in 1999 at the building of formerArabkir pediatric hospital after a large scale renovation with the joint efforts of Arabkir Medical Center and its partners: SEMRA Foundation (Switzerland), VAD Association (Switzerland), Radio Munot Shaffhausen (Switzerland), NAF-Belgique Association and SOS-Armenie organizations. In 2005 April, within the ArBeS, the Day Care Center opened its doors to organize different activities for children with special needs to ensure both their treatment and social integration. The Day Care and Treatment Center was constructed by Swiss builder Leo Gmyur, with the support of VAD (Switzerland), Armenianos Foundation (Liechtenstein), KASA Charity Foundation (Switzerland) under the auspice of Mrs. Bella Kocharyan.
We have established branches in regions of Armenia to ensure access of specialized care and special rehabilitation services for children with special needs residing in the regions. At present the branches of ArBeS H&DCC - Child Development and Rehabilitation Centers (CDRC) are open for children with special needsin the following towns:
- Spitak
- Vanadzor
- Gavar
- Gyumri
- Armavir
- Ijevan
For the patient and his family
ArBeS H&DCC provides a number of outpatient services including rehabilitation, pediatrics, dental and psychosocial services as well as educational activities for children with special needs and their families. Provision of care for children with mental health, physical, psychological, educational and behavioral problems is a long-lasting process, which requires teamwork of a number of professionals. Quality rehabilitative services at the Center are the result of the cooperation of the multidisciplinary team, which encompasses Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Doctor, Developmental Pediatrician, Neurologist, Psychiatrist, as well as Physical Therapist, Ergotherapist, Psychologist, Speech Therapist and Special Educator. The specialists trained at the leading centers in Armenia and foreign countries skillfully apply the innovative methods of rehabilitative care in their work. The special approach of the team towards the children and their parents, the friendly atmosphere surrounding our young patients and their families, as well as specially equipped consultation rooms make the services and care more efficient.
The services provided at ArBeS H&DCC cover developmental delays, diabetes in children, neurological and musculoskeletal systems disorders, post-traumatic conditions, dental problems in children and adults.
As it is well-known the early identification of children with special needs, assessment and early intervention, corresponding care, psychosocial rehabilitation as well as education of children with special needs and their parents are the best preconditions for ensuring further social integration of children and their well-being. Carrying out the above-mentioned activities, we aim our efforts at revealing and development of full potential of a child with special needs

There is a “School of Diabetes” functioning at the ArBeS H&DCC. The activities of the School are aimed at carrying out different educational programs for children with diabetes and their parents.
We provide services for children with neurological, mental health problems including Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Day Care Center, where there is special equipment, educational materials and games to ensure the best possible result.
