Surb Grigor Lusavorich multidiscipline medical centre is one of the leading medical centers of Armenia. The initial name of the hospital was Municipal Hospital Ambulance No. 2. It was founded in 1977 by academician Suren K. Avdalbekyan. According to international standards Surb Grigor Lusavorich medical centre is classified as a centre of traumatic injuries of 2nd degree, the result of which was establishment and development of new departments of surgery.
A number of departments of the medical centre such as department of emergency medical services and reanimation, departments of surgery, proctology and therapy, received the internationally acclaimed "Magnet" status granted by the World Health Organization to medical institutions and nursing staff.
Since 2004 Clinical hospital № 4, Adult clinic № 14, Children's clinic № 5 and Child Neurology Center № 2 have been included into the structure of the hospital within the frame of Armenia - Health Care Systems Optimization.
Today the medical center has 34 departments and 655 cots. The center is well-equipped with such modern diagnostic devices as Computed Tomography, Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, as well as all other diagnostic medical equipment and materials.
